Overall Purpose
- To provide inspirational leadership to PSVT and ensure that PSVT meets its strategic aims and objectives.
- To support and guide the Trustees in determining the vision for PSVT and in setting corporate aims, objectives and values.
Responsibilities
- To work closely with the Chair and the Trustees to deliver the organisation’s strategic objectives and maintain the highest levels of governance throughout the organisation.
- To be accountable to the Trustees for the delivery of service excellence in all areas of operation, in line with PSVT’s key priorities.
- To lead organisational change and transformation that keeps a customer and visitor focus and quality of service delivery at the heart of operations whilst meeting key priorities.
- Accountable to the Trustees of PSVT for the delivery of the highest possible standards of service to customer and visitors in line with PSVT’s core values and vision.
- To work with PSVT Trustees and Staff to facilitate a culture of strong customer engagement which ensures that residents and tenants are involved at the heart of decision making.
- Ensure the financial viability of PSVT is maintained and adequate financial systems and controls are in place.
- Oversee the delivery of an efficient and effective service to the Trustees of PSVT, ensuring that the Trustees are kept well informed openly and honestly on all relevant issues and assisting Trustee’s in reviewing their training needs as appropriate.
- Lead, develop, monitor and coach the Executive Team setting them challenging goals and objectives to achieve the strategic priorities.
- Identifying development, other new business and growth opportunities for PSVT.
- Engage in debate as a leading authority in the sectors where PSVT operates.
- To be regarded both internally and externally as a figurehead and ambassador for PSVT, playing a leading role in marketing the organisation.
- To carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Management and Leadership Qualifications desirable (e.g., MBA, ILM, CMI)
Experience
- A track record of successful partnership working with external stakeholders to generate new opportunities which progress the organisation’s vision.
- Demonstrable success in identifying opportunities for organisational growth, innovation and improvement.
- Success in a senior leadership role of articulating a compelling vision, leading people to deliver the strategy and producing tangible performance outcomes.
- Demonstrable track record of strong leadership, developing a commercially focussed business with a cohesive culture and delivering ongoing and sustained performance improvement.
- A strong track record of leading a customer and visitor focused, quality-led organisation in a service sector within an organisation of comparable scale and complexity.
- Successful track record, as a senior manager, of delivering outstanding performance and achieving social impact through a commercial approach.
- Strong track record in building and maintaining consensus between the Board and Senior Management colleagues, and creating efficient, collaborative and business focused teams.
- Experience of leading and delivering successful organisational and cultural change, with associated performance improvement.
- Experience of working in a regulatory environment.

- Evidence of strong ambassadorial skills and ability to build strong external partnerships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work with others to enable a strong customer engagement culture which involves residents and tenants in decision making.
